The Cathedral of the Holy Virgin Pantovasilissa in Rafina, is a significant Orthodox Christian temple, built in memory of the original Byzantine church of the same name that once stood in Triglia, Bursa, in present-day Turkey.
The church’s courtyard features a bell tower, 22 meters high, which showed visible signs of erosion and decay on both the facades as well as the marbles of its balcony. Our task was to repair the plaster and cracks, as well as to restore or replace the damaged marbles. A small-scale building permit was issued, whereas scaffolding was installed all around the bell tower. All restoration and painting works were carried out under the supervision of TektInn.
Given the historical nature and importance of the building, special attention was paid to safety and work methodology, in order to ensure minimal disruption, since the church continued to perform its regular services throughout the tower’s restoration period.
Our team successfully completed another unique project, expanding our experience and technical capabilities.
